"Collecting Memories" Booklets available in Youth Services

Family memories can be so much fun to look back on but they can often be forgotten over the years. Kids and grown-ups are encouraged to stop by the crafting table in Youth Services and pick up a "Collecting Memories" booklet to record memories from yourself and other family members so you can treasure them for years to come. 

The booklet contains a map, stickers, and pages to record family memories, and a few questions to get you started: 

1. What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
2. Where were you when a major world event happened?
3. What was the best part of where you grew up?

Get started with Genealogy

Now is a great time to research and document your family tree using the many resources available at Wright Library. Here are some links to help you get started.

• Attend a Genealogy Interest Group meeting on the second Wednesday of each month.
• Search Genealogy Research Resources through digital databases and start (or continue) building your tree. A variety of Help Guides are available so you can get the most out of your research.
• Search digital newspapers from Wright Library's eMedia page.
• Check out the Oral History/Recording Makerbox from the Library of Things collection.
• Digitize family photos and documents at the Memory Digitization Lab.
• Not sure how to begin? Stop by a Tech Tutoring drop-in session (every Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) or ask a librarian on your next visit.
