Wright Library celebrates National Library Week

The American Library Association’s National Library Week is a celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. The 2025 celebration, April 6-12, marks the 67th anniversary.

What draws you to the library?

Is it play and storytime for young ones?

Fun activities during National Library Week

Pop by the library for a fun event or check out a creative activity that you can enjoy at home with friends or family.

• Leave a note on our community board about what draws you to the library!
• Register to win a copy of the #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novel "The Cartoonists Club" by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud.
• Craft & Connect
  Sunday, April 6 from 3-4 p.m. 
  Open to all crafters! Bring a project and connect with other crafting enthusiasts. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Family Crafts: Peeps Diorama
  Monday, April 7. Drop in 6:00-8:00 p.m. (for kids & families)
• Tween Hangout
  Tuesdays in April from 3:15-4:30 p.m. (Grades 4-7). 
  Celebrate Citizen Science Month and Earth Day with outdoor environmental activities (weather permitting).
• Embroidery for Adults
  Thursday, April 10 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. 
  It’s fun. It’s fancy. Jesy Anderson, owner of Needle, Ink, and Thread, shows adult beginners embroidery stitches and techniques. No experience necessary. RSVP.
• Crafty Kids
  Saturdays in April. Drop-in after 10:00 a.m. (PreK-Grade 3). 
  New crafts each week, while supplies last.
• Spring Crafts for All Ages
  Sunday, April 13. Drop-in 2:00-4:00 p.m. (all ages)
