Library of Things: Tools & Tech

Requirements

To check out a device from the Library of Things, you must:

  • be a Wright Library patron for more than 60 days
  • have a library card in good standing
  • sign and submit a Library of Things Agreement to be kept on file with us; patrons under 18 must have parent/guardian signature.

Tools & Tech Electronic Devices

Borrow a variety of electronic devices using your library card. 

Media

  • Roku Streaming Media- devices for access to streaming subscription services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and more.
  • CD Player & Portable Speakers - play music or listen to audiobooks on compact disc (CD). Also includes AM/FM radio.
  • Mini Studio - Video Blogging ("vlogging") lighting kit, backdrop, and GoPro Camera.

Computers

  • Tablet & Kindle eReader - tablet computers for reading eBooks
  • Mobile Hotspot - wifi device to connect to the internet when service is not available
  • Raspberry Pi - Linux-based, credit card-sized computer perfect for tinkering or learning to program.
  • Arduino - open-source computing platform for enhancing a desktop computer.

In-Library-Use-Only Devices

These devices are available to patrons and guests visiting Wright Library.

  • Computers, Laptops, & Wi-Fi - Wright Library has public computers and laptops, with wi-fi access to the internet, for use inside the library.
  • Print - Copy - Fax - Scan 
  • Memory Digitization Lab - Convert personal documents, photographs, slides, film negatives, 8mm and Super8 film, VHS, or audio cassettes to digital files. Reservations needed.
  • Button Maker - visit a Wright Library Information Desk
  • Die Cut Machine - visit a Wright Library Information Desk
