Are you an older adult trying to find ways to connect with others? Your community needs you! Join Hiroko Schierman to learn about Americorps Seniors RSVP - Retired & Senior Volunteer Program - which connects citizens 55 years and over to volunteer needs in the community. Representatives of Cross Over Community Development will also be on hand to share their mission helping refugees and immigrants. Multiple other service opportunities are available based on the volunteer's interest and availability. Learn how you can use your experience and passion to help the community while making new friends.

Hiroko Schierman has lived in different parts of the country, starting in Arizona 30 years ago, but is originally from Japan. Ohio is her first place in Midwest, and she feels at home with friendly people and four beautiful seasons. Before becoming an RSVP program coordinator, Hiroko worked as a high school teacher for 15 years in Virginia. Now she is excited to work with a whole different group of people! She loves to meet new people and explore the possibilities of working together to make our communities better places for everyone. She and her husband are busy visiting their adult children and granddaughter in their spare time.
