Understanding Whiteness - September 29, 2020

Watch this recorded webinar

What is whiteness, and why do we need to talk about it in order to fight racism? This workshop will define whiteness, explore systemic racism, and explain how whiteness fits into the history of racism.  Learn how examining whiteness and noticing it at work in society brings new perspectives to America's racial issues.

Anti-racism 101: Anti-racism is the practice of opposing racism, and an anti-racist is someone who actively fights against racism. Join Wright Library for a series of educational workshops exploring the basic tenants of anti-racism. Learn about systemic racism, whiteness, white supremacy, and more. Presented by Dr. Michaela Null of SURJ-OH (Showing Up for Racial Justice). Dr. Null is a former professor of Sociology and Women's Studies and a makerspace specialist.  Each virtual workshop in this series stands alone.  Registration Required.
