Making Sense of the News: 
Navigating the Media Maze in the Age of Information Overload

Wright Library welcomes back Mandy Shannon for an in-person encore presentation for teachers, parents, teens, and any news consumers wanting to build media literacy. Ms. Shannon will provide insight into the spread of misinformation and disinformation, provide strategies to analyze the information we encounter in the news for bias, and reduce the effect of information overload that can lead to us falling for and sharing misinformation.


About the Presenter

Mandy Shannon is an Associate Professor and Director of Teaching, Research, and Engagement for the University of Dayton. She has several published works focusing on information literacy in the classroom and in the political world.
