Live music is back at the library!
The Jimmy Leach Jazztet returns to Wright Library to kick off the 2022 Music Series.
About the event
Bring a blanket and the kids for this outdoor concert in Katharine Wright Park outside the library's back entrance!
If weather is uncooperative, the concert will be held indoors in the new Community Room on the library's Main Level (upper floor).
About the musicians
Oakwood resident and University of Dayton music professor, Jimmy Leach, plays trumpet and sings a wide range of jazz music, including works composed or performed by Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Tom Jobim, and Richard Rodgers. Jimmy Leach has appeared locally at the Dayton Art Institute, the Levitt Pavilion, and the Masonic Temple. Jimmy’s past performances include shows with Shirley Jones, Johnny Mathis, and T. S. Monk, Jr.
Fellow musicians include Christian Berg, bass; Phillip Burkhead, piano; Jim Leslie, drums.
