A Morning with the Seuss Museum

For the Lorax Craft

In your kit:                                                                    You provide:

Blue paper                                                                   Scissors

Green paper                                                                Glue stick

Orange cupcake paper                                                Tape

3 colored cotton balls

3 paper straws, cut

Yellow moustache

Yellow paper, small

4 orange strips of paper

Googly eyes

Mini pom pom

Instructions for the Lorax Craft

  1. Cut the green paper to look like grass or hills along one long edge.
  2. Glue the green paper to the narrow bottom side of the blue paper.
  3. Flatten the cupcake paper and glue it on your scene for the Lorax’ body.
  4. Glue the orange strips around or under the cupcake paper for arms and legs.
  5. Cut out the moustache and glue it on the cupcake paper.
  6. Glue on the pom pom for the nose, and then the googly eyes.
  7. If you’d like the Lorax to have eyebrows, fold the yellow piece of paper in half. Draw a bushy eyebrow, then cut out the two eyebrows at the same time so they match. Glue in place.
  8. Glue the straws in place for the trunks of the truffula trees. They will glue more easily if you put glue stick on the paper and on the straw. If they won’t stick, use tape!
  9. Glue the cotton balls to the top of the straws. If you’d like, stretch them a little bit to make them bigger.

Moon and Stars is for a collage where you also need this and a black piece of construction paper. You first cut out the moon and stars from the white sheet and paste them on the black background. Then you decorate it with beads, buttons, pompoms and create a collage. The second is a rocket that you simply cut out and put together that is listed under rocket_front
