Wright Library is offering a limited number of free performance tickets to select Dayton Live performances for library cardholders (physical library card required). Tickets for The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show can be reserved on a first-call, first-served basis through Dayton Live's Box Office in the Schuster Center. Do not visit Wright Library for tickets or for the event.

Getting Tickets

Ticket reservations open Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Reserve up to 4 free tickets by visiting or calling the Dayton Live Box Office, located inside the Schuster Center, 937-228-3630. Only a limited number of tickets are available for this performance and will be available first-call, first-served. 

Box Office hours are 10AM-6PM, Tuesday-Friday. Accessibility accommodations can be requested at the time of your reservation.

Tickets will be available for pick-up 2 business days after the reservation is made. To pick up your reserved tickets, you must:

  • visit the Dayton Live Box Office in person before the performance, or visit the will-call booth at the performance
  • present your Wright Memorial Public Library card (physical card required)

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash value. If you cannot attend, please cancel through the Dayton Live Box Office, so others may enjoy these free tickets.

About the Show

The critically acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, created by Jonathan Rockefeller, features a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets. The production faithfully adapts four stories by author/illustrator Eric Carle: Brown Bear, Brown Bear; 10 Little Rubber Ducks; The Very Lonely Firefly; and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1969 selling more than 48 million copies worldwide. Brown Bear, Brown Bear – now celebrating 50 years – has sold more than 18.2 million copies.

Best for ages 4 and up; all audience members must have a ticket, regardless of age.
